The experimental verification of modulus of elasticity of fine grained composites based on silicate binders
Hoduláková, Michaela ; Kucharczyková, Barbara (referee) ; Kocáb, Dalibor (advisor)
Since their inception, building materials are constantly improving. New ways to explore and improve the material's properties are constantly investigated (especially to improve the mechanical and deformation characteristics of the materials). This thesis is focused on identifying and comparing values of the modulus of elasticity of fine-grained composites. These features are compared with respect to water cement ratio, ageing and compressive strength of the investigated materials. Afterwards, the values of the modulus of elasticity are studied in the relation to the tested materials.
The verification of the time development of the concrete elastic modulus and the compressive strength
Alexa, Martin ; Cikrle, Petr (referee) ; Kocáb, Dalibor (advisor)
Especially in the early days of curing concrete for structures sensitive on deformation. Same like bridges of prestressed concrete a substantial knowledge of the exact value of the modulus of elasticity that could prevent excessive deformation. In this work we validates the development of concrete modulus of elasticity (in the first 28 days), which is used for the construction of bridges on the highway D1 near Ružomberok. To understand this issue was made a literature review and conducted experiment, which follows the time development of the concrete compressive strength and modulus of elasticity of concrete. Except the determination of modulus of elasticity in the experiment was investigated a dynamic moduli by an ultrasonic pulse method and the resonance method and the experiment was also performed by rebound hammer. The results can serve to verify the development of the modulus of elasticity on the actual structure.

It deals with various methodologies of determining the deformation resistance of the track substructure.
Utilization of cone penetration tests in the load-transfer method for bored large diameter piles
Štetiar, Juraj ; Koudela, Pavel (referee) ; Chalmovský, Juraj (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the use of the results of cone penetration tests and the method of transfer functions for the design of drilled large-diameter piles. The introductory part clarifies the theoretical basis of cone penetration testing, method of transfer functions, various material models and the regression coefficients in the nonlinear method of pile settlement calculation. The theoretical introduction will be followed by other chapters in which the theory is applied to specific practical cases. The third part consists of geotechnical interpretation of the results of two static load tests in two different localities using graphical and numerical outputs (limit load curves, force distribution along the length of the pile, dependences of displacements and deformations on the pile depth, shaft frictions and more). The next part deals with the evaluation of the CPT at the site of the load test and the compilation of the calculation profile at the site based on the obtained data. In the fifth part there will be an inverse analysis of load tests using the method of transfer functions in the software developed at the Institute of Geotechnics, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Brno University of Technology. An inverse analysis of load tests using finite elements method and obtained data from the CPT can be found in chapter 6. Within this analysis, several material models will be applied and compared to the issue. This analysis will be followed in the fifth part by a comparison of direct correlation methods for determining the ultimate pile shaft friction from CPT data with the results of inverse analysis by MTF to determine the most suitable method. Finally, from the obtained data the regression coefficients will be adjusted for the calculation of the second limit state of lone piles by a nonlinear method (according to Masopust).
Verification of interaction between the foundation plate and the pile
Kozáková, Marcela ; Hrubešová,, Eva (referee) ; Turček,, Peter (referee) ; Horák, Vladislav (advisor)
The doctoral thesis deal with the interaction between the foundation plate and deep foundation in the form of bored piles in the case of skeleton construction. The issue of tension redistribution from the column between the plate and the pile is investigated on specific object – „Shopping and entertainment center Fórum Nová Karolina”. On this object were selected columns monitored and load tests of the piles was executed. Values of the axial loading of the piles and the actual deformation of the construction have been derived from measurements and tests. They were compared with the results of structural behavior by numerical modeling.
Bearing capacity of the ceiling structure made by diagnostics and load test
Candra, Lukáš ; Láník, Jaromír (referee) ; Žítt, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with diagnostics and static loading test of floor structures. The thesis shortly described construction systems floor structures, the theory of preparation and method of their diagnosis. The selected diagnostic methods are more fully analyzed and described. Furthermore, the work deals with specific floor structure, which is implemented diagnostics, the load test, static calculation and final design evalution.
Evaluation of loading test of jet-grouted piles
Čechová, Simona ; Račanský, Václav (referee) ; Chalmovský, Juraj (advisor)
The master thesis consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. In the theoretical part jet-grouting technology is described briefly. Mechanical properties of jet-grouted piles were characterized. Various estimation methods of ultimate pile bearing capacity are described in this thesis – analytical calculation of ultimate bearing capacity for bored piles and estimation of ultimate pile bearing capacity by analysis of load-displacement curve defined by CHIN (1970; 1972). Load transfer method for piles and hyperbolic load-transfer curve are introduced. As a part of the load-trasfer method analysis, a method of estimating ultimate pile shaft friction called beta method is defined. In the practical part were evaluated several static load tests of jet-grouted piles and were constructed their load-displacemnt curves. Then reverse analysis of the results from static load tests was performed using load-transfer method. Then ultimate pile bearing capacity was estimated using analytical calculation of pile bearing capacity for bored piles and using analysis of load-displacement curve with method by CHIN (1970; 1972). By evaluation of load transfer method and beta method ultimate shaft resistence for each pile was estimated. Results and load-displacement curves were compared.
Modulus of elasticity of natural stone
Hoduláková, Michaela ; Cikrle, Petr (referee) ; Kocáb, Dalibor (advisor)
The value of the modulus of elasticity of concrete depends on the concrete composition (particularly on the aggregate used). The contemporary construction industry literature lacks comprehensive studies of the modulus of elasticity for each type of the rock stone. Therefore, this study focuses on testing and comparing the modulus of elasticity of selected types of rock stones used for the production of crushed coarse aggregates into the concrete. The modulus of elasticity are determined by static and dynamic methods. The work also deals with the modulus of elasticity of granite in different stages of weathering.
Influence of Initial Conditions on the Modulus of Elasticity of Concrete for Bridges
Blažek, Michal ; Bílek,, Vlastimil (referee) ; Cikrle, Petr (advisor)
Beside the compressive strength of concrete, which is considered as the basic parameter parameter for design of concrete structures a modulus of the concrete elasticity should be set as well. This thesis deals with influences, which are acting on the concrete, particularly within the initial stage of its hardening (i.e. within 28 days after casting). Nowadays, when time is the most valuable factor, some knowledge is required about mechanical properties of concrete earlier than after above mentioned 28 days and to apply them advantageously. The concrete in initial stage of hardening is influenced by many factors that affect progress of the elasticity modulus during the course of the time. For understanding of these problems a literature search was performed, as well as the experiment demonstrating the effect of temperature on the modulus of the concrete elasticity. The effect of temperature on the modulus of elasticity of concrete in initial stage of hardening has not been intensively studied yet. Therefore, more attention is paid to it by this elaborate. The experiment investigated the static and dynamic elastic modulus of concrete, whose recipe is similar to one used for production of prefabricated and prestressed bridge girders.
